Designer Anna Scholz Launches Her Fall/Winter 2013 Black Label Collection Lookbook
Plus size fashion designer Anna Scholz has unveiled her new Fall/Winter 2013 Black Label Collection online in a lookbook that is so beautifully fluid and eye-catching, that it makes us want every single item on every spread.
Anna’s theme for her new Black Label collection is New York…that gritty, living on the dangerous vibe while looking fabulous. The images for the lookbook were shot in the Meatpacking District in Manhattan. Many of the spreads are black and white with some pops of color infused in places, which was genius in my opinion because most of her pieces are black or dark prints so the little pops of color really make her pieces stand out. You notice the details in every piece right away.
For this lookbook, Anna used models Clementine Desseaux, who was our cover model for the January 2013 issue, and Denise Bidot, model and star of the TV show Curvy Girls. They do a wonderful job of showcasing Anna’s pieces and staying true to the New York/New Noir vibe.
Anna describes her new collection as having an “urban gothic vibe” and being a fresh funky extension of her premium label with a focus on daywear and at a lower price. There’s lace work, beautiful tapestry and houndstooth prints, military inspired ponte knit pieces including a peplum dress that’s gorgeous, wool coats with faux leather detail and even a top with a bat print. It’s great to see a designer using prints that are not seen often.
