Style in the surf: Plus-size model Robyn Lawley launches line of swimsuits by Victoria Taylor The 24-year-old Australian beauty has designed a collection of colorful bathing suits, including bikinis, to flatter plus-size figures.
Robyn Lawley previously made waves when she became Ralph Lauren's first plus-size model. Now, the Australian stunner has set out to help women feel more confident when they make waves at the beach or in the pool.
Plus-size women now have an alternative to boring, ill-fitting swim suits. Australian stunner Robyn Lawley has created a line of fun, fashionable and flattering swimwear designed with fuller-figured beach bums in mind.
Lawley is a size 12 herself, and she said she found most swimwear in her size to be uninspired and unappealing.
"I also couldn't find any bikinis that supported my bust in the surf, or had a high enough rise in the stomach section to be flattering, so the idea was born from my own necessity and grew from there," the 24-year-old model told Refinery 29. So she set out the design her own head-turning suits that hide or pull the attention away from trouble areas. The eight swimsuits are currently available in sizes 8 through 18, and Lawley said they run true to size. Don't fret if you've fallen in love with a suit and are above or below the size range -- Lawley told Refinery 29 that she would like to expand the collection to include bigger and smaller sizes.
