On the Fox sitcom “New Girl,” Hannah Simone plays Cece, Jesse Day’s supermodel best friend. While Zoey Deschanel plays the adorkable nerd next door, Simone is the hot object of Schmidt’s affection -- the perfect woman with the flawless features and body.
But in a recent article in Glow magazine, the London-born actress explained that there are words that are used to describe her that some might consider to be unflattering. As Hannah says in the mag, “Curvy is just a polite way of saying fat. And I’m not. Curvy and voluptuous—that one also got dragged through the mud, that poor word. It really just means a woman with breasts. [But] I’m confident with my body.”
And she should be. The 32-year-old actress was recently rated number six on Complex.com’s list of The 25 Most Underrated Hot Celebrities Now, beating how “Suburgatory’s” Jane Levy and Beyonce’s sister Solange Knowles.
But for decades, the accepted convention has been that models have to look prepubescent or anorexic to land the most high profile catwalk or magazine spread gigs.
